“The Girl Who Knew Too Much: Episode II” is a group of seven photographs that features girls caught in the space between childhood and adulthood.  In her latest work, Paciulli establishes an intermediary zone between the documentary truth of photography and the familiar coded fantasies of popular media.  Through the subjectivity of the girls’ circumstances, Paciulli finds new spheres of meaning within the traditional dilemmas surrounding the portrayal of youthful femininity in pictorial art.

Juliana Paciulli lives and works in Los Angeles.
